Materials Required
  • Nails
  • Two empty plastic or paper cups
  • Scissors
  • String
  • Paper clips

How to do it

  • Use the nail to poke a hole in the center of the bottom of each paper or plastic cup.
  • With your scissors, cut a piece of string that is about 15 feet long.
  • Poke the end of the string through the hole into the cup. Tie the string with the paper clip, so that it will not come out of the cup. The paper clip knot should be in the inside area of the cup.
  • Do the same with the other cup and at the other end of the string.
  • Hold one cup up to your ear, and give the other cup to your child.
  • Tell your kid to walk away from you until the string is tight, then hold his cup up to his ear.
  • When you pluck the string, both of you can hear the sound.
  • Hold the cup up to your ear, and have your kid talk into other cup.
  • Kids will love this simple cup telephone very much
