Materials Required A transparent glass jar. Carbonated water(soda). Raisins(dried grapes) How to do it Pour the carbonated water or soda into the glass jar. Drop few raisins(dried grapes) into the glass jar. Ask the kids to observe what happens. The raising start dancing. This is because, bubbles of carbon dioxide gas in the liquid are much less dense than the liquid or the raisins. Raisins are denser than the liquid and the carbondioxide, so they will sink. Carbondioxide bubbles gets attached to the wrinkles on the raisins. When the raisins are attached with the bubbles they become less denser than the liquid, so they start to rise to the top again. The carbondioxide gas bubbles starts bursting and then the raisins become denser than the drink, so they sink again. This looks like the raisins are dancing in the liquid. What is learnt The property of density of the substance.
