Materials Required

* A hot cup of chocolate milk without sugar * A cold cup of chocolate milk without sugar. * 2 teaspoons of sugar * Spoon to stir

Method

  • Put 1- teaspoon sugar in hot chocolate milk and stir it 10 times.
  • Then Put the other teaspoon of sugar in the cold chocolate milk and stir it 10 times.
  • Let the child  taste both the chocolate milk - hot and cold and tell you which is sweeter.  

What is Learnt

Heat helps to dissolve solids (sugar) faster.

Conclusion

The hot chocolate milk is sweeter as heat helps to dissolve sugar, no sugar being left at the bottom. Cold chocolate does not dissolve sugar well, some sugar being left at the bottom.
