* Small craft magnet discs * Paper clips, hair barrettes, binder clips, iron nails * Plastic plate, keys, coins, aluminum foil
Put the different objects separately on the table. Take the magnet near each object and note down the objects that get attracted to the magnet and what objects do not.
Some items are magnetic and get attracted to the magnet while others do not. Items that are attracted to the magnet are magnetic objects. Items that do not get attracted to the magnet are non-magnetic objects.
Paper clips, hair barrettes, binder clips and iron nails get attracted to the magnet and are magnetic by nature. Plastic plate, keys, coins and aluminum foil are not attracted to the magnet and are non-magnetic.
