Static Electricity in Summer
Materials Required
  • A balloon
  • Watch or clock to check time

How to do it

  • Rub the balloon on your hair or sweater. Charge it to the maximum and stick it to a wall and check the time for how long it stays before falling down.
  • Repeat the above step in the bathroom, just after your kids has taken a hot water shower.
  • Ask the child to observe the time taken now.

Explanation

  • In the bathroom, water in the air and on the walls helped move electrons away from the balloon more quickly. So the balloon will fall in lesser time.
