Materials Required
  • A container with Water.
  • A Stove for heating.
  • Ice Cubes and a container.

How to do it

  • Tell the different sources of water like rain, river, ocean, underground water, lake, pond etc.
  • The rain that falls may one day be in the ocean or lake or river or as snow on mountain top.
  • Water is always cycles around the world.
  • Water can be in the air, on land or in the ocean or underground. It is recycled by the method of water cycle.  In the water cycle, it changes from one state to another. It changes from liquid water, ice and water vapour.
  • Water that is on the surface turns into water vapor by the process of evaporation. Water vapour can also form from snow and ice. Water will also evaporate from plants.
  • Explain the evaporation process by heating water. What happens after continuous heating. All the water gets evaporated.
  • The water vapor rises in the atmosphere and cools. When the temperature is cool, then the water vapour changes to lets of water due to condensation.
  • These lets combine together to from rain clouds. When the s of waters is too much, then the water is poured as rain.
  • Explain the process of condensation , by having some icecubes in a container and leave it in room temperature.  After soe time, ask the child to observe the lets of water on the surface of the container. This is due to condensation.
  • So the water comes to a full cycle.

What is learnt

  • Observation.
  • New Terms like evaporation , condensation are learnt.
