Materials Required
* Green leaves from a sunny place, * Red and yellow leaves from a cold place.
Method
- Children are to be told that leaves can remain fresh and green only when there is sunlight that helps leaves to make their own food from chlorophyll.
- When leaves get no sunlight they do not maintain their green color, but live on stored foods and expose colors like red and yellow underneath.

What is Learnt
Plants make their own food with chlorophyll from sunlight. So leaves in winter are colored red and yellow, but leaves in summer are green.
Conclusion
The colors red and yellow are present in the leaves but the color green covers them. Hence non-summer months expose those colors and give a pretty transformation of colors.
