Three Layer Float Experiment

Materials Required |
- Cooking Oil
- Cork
- Coin
- Water
- Grape
- Honey
- Tall transparent Bottle

How to do it
|
- Fill one third of the bottle with honey.
- Fill the next third with the cooking oil.
- Fill the last third of the bottlw with water.
- Wait for all three liquids to settle. Do not disturb the bottle.
- Now ask your child to in the coin , then the grape and then the cork.
- Ask the child to observe what happens.

Explanation
|
|
- All three items coin, grape and cork land up on each of the three different fluids namely honey, oil and water.
- Each liquid and item have different densities and stay in a separate layer according to its density. The most dense is at the bottom and the least dense is at the top.
- Make a record of the position of the liquid and the objects.
