Bending of water
Materials Required
  • A comb
  • Tap
  • Woolen bedsheet

How to do it

  • Rub the comb with the woolen bedsheet. This should be done on a dry day.
  • Then open the tap and let the water flow smoothly.
  • Now take the comb near the water flow , without touching the water.
  • Let your child observe that the water flow bends towards the comb.
  • This is because of the electrostatic force, whcih makes the comb charged.
  • The charged comb attracts the uncharged water.

What is learnt

  • Electrostatic force
